How to set up Netgear Orbi satellite?

Netgear Orbi RBS850 setup & login can be done using the following steps.

  1. Make sure that the Orbi router is connected to the power source. Connect the Orbi router to the modem with an Ethernet cable.
  2. Now, place the Orbi satellite in a central location to allow it to receive the best Wi-Fi signals. Connect the Orbi satellite to the power outlet.
  3. If you don’t see the power light on the Orbi satellite, press the power ON/ OFF button.
  4. The Orbi satellite will attempt to connect to orbi router automatically. If it fails to connect, press the sync button on Orbi satellite.
  5. Press the sync button on the orbi router within a few seconds and check the ring light.
  6. If the light on the Orbi satellite is solid blue, your Orbi satellite and router synced successfully.
  7. If the light on the Orbi satellite is magenta, your Orbi satellite and router failed to sync.

What does the LED on the Orbi RBS850 setup indicate?

When you try the Netgear Orbi RBS50 setup & login, your Orbi satellite’s ring light will change to any of the following colors:

  • Solid blue- The connection between the Orbi and Orbi satellite is made successfully. The connection is good.
  • Solid amber– The connection is made successfully but we recommend you to move the device closer to one another for better signal strength.
  • Solid magenta– The connection between the Orbi satellite and Orbi router is failed. Consider moving the devices closer to each other.
